Privacy Policy for ProfitGreen

Arnav Murthi, operating as ProfitGreen ("we," "us," or "our"), is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use the profitgreen.app website, the ProfitGreen Discord Bot, our documentation at docs.profitgreen.app, and our related services (collectively, the "Services").

1. WHAT DATA DO WE COLLECT?

To provide our Services, we collect the following categories of information. By using the Services, you consent to the collection of:

A. Discord Data (Automatically Collected via API):

  • User Identifiers: Discord User IDs, usernames, and profile pictures.
  • Account Email: When you log into our website with Discord, Discord shares the email address associated with your Discord account.
  • Server (Guild) Data: Guild IDs, Guild names, owner IDs and usernames, member counts, and invitation history (tracking when the bot joins or leaves a server). When you log into our website, we also receive the list of servers you belong to so we can show which ones you can manage.
  • Channel Data: Channel IDs and Channel names for the purpose of configuring streams and alerts.
  • Interactions: Command history and usage logs to improve bot performance and troubleshoot errors.

B. Feature Data:

  • Data you create while using the Bot, such as paper trading portfolios and transactions, price alerts, limit orders, watchlists, and server settings.

C. Billing & Account Data (Pro Tier):

  • When you subscribe to ProfitGreen Pro, we and our payment processor collect your email address, billing name, and billing address (used to calculate applicable sales tax), along with your subscription status and purchase history.
  • Note: Payment processing is handled securely by Stripe. We do not store or have access to your full credit card numbers or sensitive financial credentials.

D. Website & Analytics Data:

  • Google Analytics: We use Google Analytics to understand how users interact with our Website and Documentation. This collects data such as your IP address, browser type, device information, and pages visited. Analytics cookies are only set if you opt in. On our documentation site, Google Analytics runs in Google's "Consent Mode": before you opt in, it may send limited, cookieless measurement signals (with IP addresses anonymized) but does not store cookies on your device.
  • Server Logs: Like most websites, our servers automatically record technical information such as IP addresses, request times, and error logs for security and troubleshooting.
  • Cookies: We use cookies to maintain your login session, remember your cookie preferences, and, with your consent, analyze traffic. See our Cookie Policy for details.

We do not collect sensitive personal information such as government ID numbers, precise geolocation, or real financial account information.

2. WHY DO WE NEED THIS DATA?

We process your information for the following purposes:

  • Service Delivery: To identify users and servers, apply Pro perks, and store your specific settings.
  • Functionality: To deliver real-time price streams and alerts to the correct Discord channels and direct messages.
  • Billing: To process payments, calculate taxes, manage subscriptions, and send receipts and billing-related notices.
  • Security & Fraud Prevention: To monitor for bot abuse, unauthorized access, and to ensure payment integrity.
  • Improvement: To analyze command history and website traffic to identify which features are most valuable to our community.
  • Legal Compliance: To comply with legal obligations, such as tax and accounting record-keeping, and to enforce our Terms of Service.

We do not use your information for targeted advertising.

3. WHO DO WE SHARE YOUR DATA WITH?

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We only share information with the following service providers ("Data Processors") as necessary to run our business:

  • Contabo: Our primary hosting provider where your data is stored securely.
  • MongoDB: Our database provider used to store user progress and server settings.
  • Stripe: Our payment processor for handling Pro subscriptions, billing, and tax calculation.
  • Discord Inc.: To facilitate the basic interactions between our Bot and your Discord account.
  • Google Analytics: To analyze website performance and user behavior, as described in Section 1.D.

We may also disclose information (a) if required by law, subpoena, or other legal process; (b) to protect the rights, property, or safety of ProfitGreen, our users, or others; or (c) in connection with a sale, merger, or transfer of the Services, in which case this Privacy Policy will continue to apply to your information.

Information you post through the Bot in a Discord server, such as commands and their outputs, may be visible to other members of that server under Discord's own settings.

4. DATA SECURITY & RETENTION

4.1 Security: We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your data. Your information is stored on secure servers provided by Contabo and MongoDB. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

4.2 Retention: We retain your data for as long as you have an active account or as needed to provide you with our Services. Command usage logs (which include your Discord user ID, username, the command used, and the server it was used in) and server join/leave records are kept for as long as they are useful for troubleshooting, abuse prevention, and usage analytics, and are deleted on request as described below. Billing records are kept as required by law for tax and accounting purposes, even after you cancel or request deletion.

4.3 Location: We and our service providers may process and store your information in the United States and other countries, which may have data protection laws different from those in your country.

5. YOUR RIGHTS & CHOICES

Depending on where you live, privacy laws (such as the GDPR or U.S. state laws like the CCPA) may give you certain rights over your personal information. Regardless of where you live, we offer all users the following rights:

  • Access: You may request a copy of the data we have collected about you.
  • Correction: You may request that we update incorrect information.
  • Deletion: You may request that we delete your data at any time, subject to the legal retention requirements described above.
  • Analytics Opt-out: You may withdraw consent to analytics cookies at any time through the "Cookie Settings" link in our website footer.

To make a request: Please email us at [email protected] from, or referencing, the account the request concerns. We may need to verify your identity, for example by confirming your Discord account, before fulfilling the request. We will respond within the time required by applicable law, and we will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights. If we deny your request, you may ask us to reconsider by replying to our response. Please note that deleting your data will result in the immediate loss of all user progress and Pro settings.

6. DO NOT TRACK & GLOBAL PRIVACY CONTROL

Some browsers send "Do Not Track" (DNT) or "Global Privacy Control" (GPC) signals. Because there is no common industry standard for interpreting DNT, our Services do not currently respond to DNT signals. Because we do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, there is nothing for a GPC signal to opt you out of. Analytics cookies are disabled by default and only set if you opt in through our cookie banner, and we do not allow third parties to collect information about your activity across other websites for advertising purposes.

7. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

The Services are not directed to children under the age of thirteen (13), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly. 8. THIRD-PARTY LINKS

Our Services may contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those external sites.

9. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. If we make material changes to how we collect or use your personal information, we will provide notice on our website or in our Support Discord Server before the changes take effect.
